ATTENDANCE POLICY

Daily attendance and class participation are essential in the learning process. Students should only miss school in the event of an illness or family emergency. Please consult the school calendar before making non-emergency appointments. Medical appointments should be scheduled outside school hours whenever possible. All other reasons, including vacations, are detrimental to the learning process, and therefore, strongly discouraged. To call in attendance for an absence or lateness is 215-624-4044.

Students should contact their teacher and inform them of the absence or lateness as they will be responsible for all work. To speak to the Attendance Officer, please call 215-624-6840, ext 1550. The email address for the attendance office is [email protected].

• Parents will be notified about uncommunicated and unexcused absences (including missing 5 periods) and lateness between 10 AM and 12 PM on school days.

• Attendance notes need to be provided within one week of occurrence, if not, students will be given 3 demerits.

• Once a student has 10 unexcused absences (including missing 5 periods) or lateness, she will not be permitted to attend school dances, proms, or class trips.

• Students are not permitted to participate in any school activity or athletics on days they are absent (including missing 5 periods) from school or sent home by the nurse. Under certain circumstances, administrative exceptions can be made.

• According to Archdiocesan policy, students who accumulate 21 unexcused absences (including missing 5 periods), and/or 22 unexcused times late will be required to attend Behavior Modification Summer School.
