Ms. Amato's English Classes

REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL CLASSES
1.  Quizzes will be given every Friday and will include the vocab., literature and class notes covered during the week.

2.  Novels will be assigned each quarter.  Reading will be done independently and quizzes will be given on sections of the books, culminating with a major test.

3.  Major Grades will either be tests, projects or essays.  Each major grade will be counted as a double grade.

4.  An active Writing Portfolio will contain all the writing assignments (completed, uncompleted, graded or ungraded) of the school year.  A final major grade on the portfolio will be given in May.

5.  Oral Presentations will be frequent and often presented in group form.

6.  Homework will be in the form of Vocabulary exercises and reading, reading, reading.

7.  When a student is absent, it is her responsibility to call a classmate to find out what work was missed.  When a quiz or test is missed, it must be made up within 2 weeks of the student's return.  This can be done at the student's convenience.  If a project is due during ths student's absence, every attempt should be made to hand it in, either via another student or family member.
