Welcome to the Art Department!
Highlights
Our art students have won many honors at various exhibitions and competitions over the past several years. The honors include Grande Prizes, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in a variety of categories. The juried exhibitions include: Art Futures hosted by the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Archdiocesan Art Exhibits, and PIE Organization "Law of Life" contests, Art & Literary Magazine (yearly 1st place winners). We have also won many grants that allowed for special cross-curricular projects, visiting artists, and a Graphics Computer Lab.
We have a newly remodeled art room that includes a ceramics room, state-of-the-art Smartboard, new furniture, professional lighting, and storage.
Our program has become well-known at a variety of art colleges/universities. We offer a well-rounded program that prepares students for further study in the arts while fostering a love for the creative process. After several years in our program, students are armed with a variety of art-making ( and writing) experiences that prepares them for college.
Our students have become very successful in their chosen art-related fields. These include: fashion design, set design (T.V. and theatre), graphic design, interior design, illustration, painting ( mural artists), photography, communications, education/art education (all levels, including college), etc.
We are often asked by local colleges to host student observers and student teachers who, themselves, are training to become art educators.
We are proud of our students and our program!

Art students are reminded that they are required to be present Friday,May 21st, after school to hang the show, and Monday, May 24th, after school, to take it down.
